I can't tell which is the left and which is the right. Is there a differance? If not, why?
My toddlers ballet slippers arrived in the mail! Now, which ones which?
There really isn't a difference in the shoes with most brands. If there is, look at the bottoms of them to see if there is a slight curvature on the sole. Mark inside the shoe R and L and they will mold to his/her feet that way.
Reply:Some brands have an R or an L printed in the shoe or on the inner side of the shoe. If not, you can decide which shoe will be for the left foot and which will be for the right. Just make sure that you write a R or L somewhere on the shoe so YOU will put it on the same foot all the time from now on.
Why some companies don't write down if its left or right? I have no clue.

I was wearing slippers while walking down my spiral staircase and slipped...no less.?
I hit the edge of the carpeted stair and slid two more stairs down. Stung like h$ll when it happened. About 70% of my right gluteus maximus (middle, not near the tail bone) is completely bruised and there is a HUGE knot the size of a medium lime on the upper part of the bruising. and on the edge of the swelling it swells out in to a line formation. It hurts to touch and to put pressure on it while I am sleeping. not so much to sit sicne it is up higher and I think I have become use to the discomfort. It's been a week and the swelling hasn't really gone down much. Do I need to go see a Dr. or is this something that is going to go down on its own in a few weeks?

I was being stupid and was standing on a ladder in the shower (painting above it) and slipped and landed right on my rear on the sharp edge of the top of the bathtub. I had massive bruising and soreness. IT took a good two weeks to go away to a point where it didnt really hurt to sit anymore. I would try ice off and on for a few days and if the swelling still hasnt gone down, get it checked out by a doctor just in case.
Reply:Go quickly and get an appiontment to see a doctor. In the mean while strap a pack of ice to your butt when you see to bring down the swelling and soak in some epson salt. I know your thinking that epson salt is for sprains and laxative but the solution causes diffusion in your cells to bring down the swelling in your bones. In other words it takes out the swelling because water moves from the cell.

You might have anything from a broken hip, broken femur, broken pelvis (not too likely), broken tailbone to a vertebral fracture or just a hematoma.
GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR

Reply:The same thing happened to me. I was carrying allot of bags down some steps at a friends house. I hit a step covered in ice that I did not see and fell down three stairs to the concrete below. My butt turned colors I had never seen before in my life. It took the better part of a month for the swelling to go down and weeks after that for the bruise to fade. I know how much pain you are in but a doctor can't really do anything. Use heating pads for pain, ice for swelling, and when you can touch the area a little muscle rub might feel good. Stock up on aspirin because you have to ride this one out. Sorry, hope you feel better.

It is also possible that there were pairs that were destroyed, as many of the current authenticated pairs on the market were saved on their way to the incinerator. But it is known that there were several pairs made for Garland, which was a common practice for key props so that if anything happened to them during filming, they could be quickly changed.
But there are many "real" red slippers from the Wizard of Oz that Garland wouldn't have worn. Remember, the Wicked Witch of the East had pair on when she was hit by the house and Margaret Hamilton (Wicked witch of the West) had a pair on when she flew past the window on a broom (in the sepia colored scenes). Also, Garland's double Bobbie Koshay would have had several pairs made for her.
So in the end, there would probably be quite a few "real" ruby slippers out there that were actually involved in the production of the 1939 classic The Wizard of Oz.

Reply:Without seeing your slippers, my Darling, I'm at a loss to give advice. The launder and dryer trick might work, also you might try adding an extra fleece pad in the bottom to regain the softness your feet were used to when tey were new. Are they really fuzzy or they just fluffy?

I've always worn Capezios but lately my shoes have been getting deforming, causing my heel to pop out during class and if i buy a new pair the same thing happens. I only wear split sole and my studio requires leather.

leather is stiffer so i dont think you can find a shoe that doesnt pop off your foot unless you break it in real good.

is it really cold near you? the coldness might be causing your shoe to stiffen. try puting them in a ziplock bag and seal it without any air. this really helps my leather horseback riding gloves so they dont get stiff.

No but my emotions are like glass ... toughenned glass really because I'm so sensitive that I've had to try to harden myself over the years otherwise I'd just soak in the moods, feelings and atmosphere of what's around me.

Reply:well have you tried some sponge washing the inside of the slipper. try with some of your own shampoo then rinse again with a sponge and tepid water , WHAT, your saying , yes then to make sure they don´t smell %26amp; dry properly fill the slipper with normal rice stuff with old clean clothes, leave over night like this and you will be surprised how quick they dry , same when you wash any other shoes old trick but it works. also when you can always give your slipper´s plenty air and use foot odor spray inside the slipper ,Hope that help´s a little

Reply:Ugg boots aren't made to wear outside! They're slippers!! This is probably why yours didn't last! If you want to wear them outside you should scotch-guard them AND use a water repllent spray....or maybe buy boots?
Reply:if they are real sheep skin you shouldn't get them wet. I put water proofer spray on mine so it doesn't matter if they get a few drops of water on them, but you definately shouldn't wear them in the snow or walk through puddles with them as the suede goes funny

hey, I luuuuv ths question, man.. (U a 5 .. or a 6?) I definitely like the aura of the Lizard Cake Monkey.. (Hey, I went to an old bar at Michigan State in E%26gt; Lansing in the 70's called "Lizard's..") too kool! Ugg clogs, slippers, short boots, or long?
UGG mocasins are amazingly comfortable and I'm seeing more and more people wearing them. The boots are definately the best though because they were the original. The medium classic ones are the best though becase the short ones make your calves look fat and the talk ones you can't wear under jeans very well. The tan Uggs get really dirty easily though so i would recommend the chocolate colored ones because they don't show stains easily and barely any people have them. The fabric on them seems thicker too, so they keep their form better. My three pairs of Uggs are what keep me alive in the winter...no matter if people say if they are so last year. Whatev. Hope that was helpful.

Long boots: Echoing the other answers, it's the ideal gift assuming you don't live in some hot tropical paradise where long boots would look silly. Recommendations ror dressy: pointy toe and stiletto please (wide feet may pose problems). For casual but stylish, rounded toe with a western heel. If she has really skinny legs then make sure the tube is small but stretchy so it wrap around the legs snug otherwise it's gonna sag or wobble around.
Short boot: Ideal for those wear pants most often. No point covering those long boots under those pants all the time.
Slippers: The indoor kind. Good gifts for people who live with those cold tile/hardwood floors.
Clogs: Unless she's into these things I wouldn't recommend as a gift. So you're on your own on this one.

Birkenstock sandals/slippers fungus problem on the?
i recently wore my birkenstock sandals to the pool by mistake and got it all wet . The next day i found out that it had some kind of white patches on it( where the toes and heel are ) and washed it thoroughly and it went away . These few days i havent been home but i noticed that the white patches have appeared . Does the fungus keep coming back?What should i do to clean and prevent it from coming back ?

Try getting some suede cleaner from your local shoe shop/cobblers. They usually come with a scrubbing brush.

Ballet slippers ripping?
I have had them since march and they are split-sole canvas shoes with mesh in the middle and the top sole part where it folds, there are a couple rips
My dance store has switched to discount dance which is good i guess but i forgot what size i was and they dont sell leo's arabesque at discount dance
Should I just keep dancing in them and wait until they are all blah or get new ones
If I get new ones I am thinking of getting the full sole blotch

i'm going to be in my first musical ever, and i was wondering if i should get soft ballet or jazz shoes. a lot of people doing the musical wear jazz shoes, but they've been doing this for years and i dont know if it's practical to invest more money in them. and for those of you who are familiar with the elastospit ballet shoe, what do you think of it? i hope the dancers out there can help me!

Three : the shoes are not easily visible, which is nice

Fuzzy Slippers: how often do you change them?
mines are a week old and now they are becoming deflated, very flat..like deformed. does this happen to you? and what do you do, get a new pair or buy a style that doesnt get flat?

How can i make unique slippers and what is the other use of this slippers..?

After you have the slippers, maybe glue some crystals on them. At fabric and craft stores, they also have small appliques you can sew on, with embroidery or sequins.
Slippers are mostly for house wear with pajamas, I suppose you could use them with lounge clothes. Or keep them in your car for driving. I would not walk around outside in slippers unless they have a hard sole or they will fall apart quickly.
I have seen some fancy slippers made from silk with embellishments like bead and metallic embroidery, worn with wide legged silk pants and a sparkly top, at an indoor dinner party. The woman hosting the party wore them and looked divine, and she was very comfortable too.
