i recently wore my birkenstock sandals to the pool by mistake and got it all wet . The next day i found out that it had some kind of white patches on it( where the toes and heel are ) and washed it thoroughly and it went away . These few days i havent been home but i noticed that the white patches have appeared . Does the fungus keep coming back? What should i do to clean and prevent it from coming back ?
Birkenstock sandals/slippers fungus problem on the?
Because the sole of the Birkenstock is made out of suede, you should never get water on them, usually they just stain the suede, but the chlorine in the water may be having an effect on them.
Try getting some suede cleaner from your local shoe shop/cobblers. They usually come with a scrubbing brush.
