Who invented slippers?

Great invention.

Who invented slippers?
They are nice and cosy and don't slip at all. I've often wondered why they are called 'slippers'. Perhaps because you just 'slip' them on without having to do up laces.
Reply:the japenese invented the slipper. the english in 1478 gave it its name.
Reply:Did the family tree.

Turns out Uncle Clive invented the slipper 175 years ago.

It was the left one.

The right one wasn't invented until 83 years ago, so for 92 years people limped around their homes.

What a silly Uncle Clive.
