Have you ever gone out in your slippers and not realized until your actually out in the street?? lol

I went shopping in new shoes and they were hurting so bad I bought some slippers to wear for the rest of the day. Got some funny looks, but I didn%26#039;t care - I was comfy!
Reply:Yeah last week to take the dog a walk. The dog kept giving me funny looks when I put her lead on and took her out and I thought SHE was the mad one. Of course it had been raining and it was only when my big fluffy slippers became sodden I realised. What a plonker!

Reply:Yes - but I think you may be amused by the following: My dad%26#039;s friend was a refugee from Poland during the war (1940s) He lived in a flat in London - One night he thought he heard someone at the door and he went out to see who was there. There was nobody in sight but the door closed and he was locked out, naked and alone on a cold December night in a strange city and unable to speak English.

Reply:This was a gift from my aunt.It was well decorated with flowers etc.


II always wear it to go out without knowing it was slippers until a colleague told me.I was so shy

I have gone out to the bin or the ice-cream van in my slippers but that%26#039;s about it.
Reply:Yes, when I was six years old I rode down the high street on my bike (which was pink and had %26#039;streamers%26#039; attached to the handle bars!), wearing my fluffy pink slippers and a pair of jodphurs - thinking your bike was a pony seemed to be the thing to do. I%26#039;m pleased to say that now I%26#039;m 34 I no longer partake in those kind of shenanigans and I no longer wear pink fluffy slippers (at least when I%26#039;m out of the house :-)





Also....when my brother was about 4 my mum made him wear a pair of spiderman slippers to ballet....not sure which is more camp - the ballet or wearing the slippers?!
Reply:My slippers are Ugg so even if i go out in them they look more like boots than slippers if my pants are covering them
Reply:I go out in my slippers quite often, but am aware of it - usually to pop down to the shops for a newspaper - i went there in my PJ%26#039;s once as well - but the looks were a bit much - slippers you can get away with!! just about!!
Reply:I haven%26#039;t, but when my brother was little, he went to nursery in his slippers, and he was also wearing one of my hair bands on his head!
Reply:Christmas 2005 I gave my daughter a pair of lightweight sheepskin dark brown ankle boots with pompoms at the side from TopShop. She chose to wear them out and it is only this Christmas that one of her friends told her that they were in fact slippers. She was sooooo mad at me! I said %26quot;old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill%26quot;!! In other words, I was just getting even for all the cheek I%26#039;d had! She%26#039;s lovely really.

Reply:Absolutely..as long as they are not my Sponge Bob square pants one. I have plain wool birkenstocks etc. But I don%26#039;t tk shoes off in my house either I ahve 2 boys and they don%26#039;t listen to me about taking shoes off so I pick and choose my battles and that%26#039;s one of them.I can come back into the house w them . It can%26#039;t rain or snow etc. It also depends where I am going...quick errand ..yes...coffee Starbucks where I may run into someone -nope but it really depends on how they look.

Reply:Yes and the stupid thing was I went out with a couple of friends and they didn%26#039;t even tell me! But what%26#039;s worse than going out in your house slippers is leaving the house with one black shoe and one brown shoe! oi!
Reply:Yes, and I have also gone to work with two odd shoes (different colours, styles and heel heights - quite unbelievable!) and had to endure that humiliation all day.
