Where do I find soles for crocheted slippers?

I make crocheted slippers but the bottoms wear out rather quickly so I wanted to put some soles on the bottom but I don%26#039;t know where to look for them. I could really use some advice on where to find them.

Where do I find soles for crocheted slippers?
Is this what you mean?
Reply:I use heavy duty canvas (sail canvas). I have a moccasin pattern I got from a Tandy Leather kit, and I modified it. For shoes that will be worn outside, leather works also.

Just glue it on the bottom of the shoe, or punch little holes and sew it on. Sewing doesn%26#039;t work too well, because the thread wears down.
Reply:I have a friend that does this too. She uses the same soles that they put on childrens slippers (kinda rubbery but soft) she has them cut out of big roles of rubber to the right size. She only pads the ball and heal so that the soul has flex and is comfy.

Try searching for rubber sales, and services
Reply:At a store!
Reply:check with a shoe hospital or repair store. You can also use a double thickness of thick foam-resembling material in the craft sections
Reply:the snb books recommend using fabric paint on the bottoms to provide some traction. Not great for running track, but good on a wood floor!
Reply:Check at The Spider%26#039;s Web Fabric Shop. They carry Jiffy Sole...it%26#039;s a flexible rubbery stuff made for the bottoms of slippers.
