Birkenstock sandals/slippers fungus problem on the?
i recently wore my birkenstock sandals to the pool by mistake and got it all wet . The next day i found out that it had some kind of white patches on it( where the toes and heel are ) and washed it thoroughly and it went away . These few days i havent been home but i noticed that the white patches have appeared . Does the fungus keep coming back?What should i do to clean and prevent it from coming back ?

Because the sole of the Birkenstock is made out of suede, you should never get water on them, usually they just stain the suede, but the chlorine in the water may be having an effect on them.
Try getting some suede cleaner from your local shoe shop/cobblers. They usually come with a scrubbing brush.

Ballet slippers ripping?
I have had them since march and they are split-sole canvas shoes with mesh in the middle and the top sole part where it folds, there are a couple rips
My dance store has switched to discount dance which is good i guess but i forgot what size i was and they dont sell leo's arabesque at discount dance
Should I just keep dancing in them and wait until they are all blah or get new ones
If I get new ones I am thinking of getting the full sole blotch

My dance store has switched to discount dance which is good i guess but i forgot what size i was and they dont sell leo's arabesque at discount dance

Ballet slippers vs jazz shoes?
i'm going to be in my first musical ever, and i was wondering if i should get soft ballet or jazz shoes. a lot of people doing the musical wear jazz shoes, but they've been doing this for years and i dont know if it's practical to invest more money in them. and for those of you who are familiar with the elastospit ballet shoe, what do you think of it? i hope the dancers out there can help me!

Slippers are mostly for house wear with pajamas, I suppose you could use them with lounge clothes. Or keep them in your car for driving. I would not walk around outside in slippers unless they have a hard sole or they will fall apart quickly.
I have seen some fancy slippers made from silk with embellishments like bead and metallic embroidery, worn with wide legged silk pants and a sparkly top, at an indoor dinner party. The woman hosting the party wore them and looked divine, and she was very comfortable too.

If it were up to me, I'd pick the Juicy bracelet. You can get other comfortable slippers at a fraction of the price, but that bracelet is unique (and adorable!).

Old slippers in the wash machine left small pieces of sole all over the drum - could the machine be broke?
I spent an hour picking out the pieces from the drum, the rubber lining around the drum, behind the rubber lining... now I don't know if I should wash anything again!

Well i'm an ex washer man, give it an empty wash and anything left should wash through BUT if pieces keep appearing in your wash afterwards have a friend or neighbour check the washer filter for debris (some are are easy to get at from a small square door at the front bottom corner) apart from that there is nowhere where the sole can stay, it's drum, filter, and pump, then out through the waste tube. (check it's draining ok too, if not then the pump may be blocked or the pipe through the wall may be blocked, in that case call an engineer and if u r in the UK pay no more than £30 to get it checked and cleared.
Reply:Just check your filters before washing again and you will be fine...next time place them in a net bag available from Lakeland (online) and you will never have this problem again!

When you have washed your slippers let them dry properly and pour a little bit of foot powder into them as well, it makes a helll of an improvement, really, try it.:)

Reply:Besides washing them with vinegar as suggested, after they are dry, stick one of those fabric softener sheets in them as well as whenever you are not wearing them. Fabric softener sheets are inexpensive are really useful for many things other than just softening your fabric in the dryer.

Reply:If you love them so much that you don't want to chuck them, put in some charcoal odour-eater insoles. That will stop them smelling.

Reply:Oh dear. Sorry to say this, its not your slippers, it's your feet. I'm not being rude, but this may be a good time to change the type of socks you buy and consider whether you may have a fungal infection. Have a look at this link. You may find it helpful.

Vinegar is great for removing smells, and by using it in the machine it will be thoroughly rinsed meaning it won't smell of vinegar either.

Reply:Besides washing them with vinegar as suggested, after they are dry, stick one of those fabric softener sheets in them as well as whenever you are not wearing them. Fabric softener sheets are inexpensive are really useful for many things other than just softening your fabric in the dryer.

Vinegar is great for removing smells, and by using it in the machine it will be thoroughly rinsed meaning it won't smell of vinegar either.

I think when you get older and more mature, there are times when you wish you could "go home again to a life style that is innocent". I would love to go home again and see my parents who passed aways many years ago, and see friends I have lost to death and my late husbands. Definitely the ruby red slippers.

Ugg boots and slippers help?
i wear my uggs everyday. boots on the really cold day and then the slippers on the warmers days.
you can get them at Nordstrom's i think.

Reply:I wouldn't recommend wearing them daily. I believe they don't have adequate arch support so, unless you're flat-footed, your arches could eventually fall.

Little ballet slippers socks. Is there really a purpose?
Today i saw some little socks that are like those little ballet slipper things but in the material of a sock. They are cute, but do they really have a point becasue they dont cover the top of your foot to keep them warm. What do people use these type of socks for? They have little grippy things on the bottom too so i dont think you would wear them in a shoe but still would they keep you warm enough?

Furry slippers gone all matted inside?
I bought some slipper boots with fur type material inside. They were SO comfortable, but after a few uses the fur has just gone all hard. Is there a quick and easy way to get it soft and comfortable again without putting them in the washing machine?

Try brushing them with a boar bristle brush and a little water, as mentioned above, then use a very low, if not cool, setting with a hair dryer and dry them. You don't want to soak them though. Just enough to dampen the furs.

All my attempts 2 stop my 6 yr old Female Dobe from chewing on all our slippers & carpets failed. Help!!!?
My 6 yr old Dobe would have completely destroyed over 15 pairs of slippers, several carpets and over 50 Balls!!! I have always corrected her by talking to her sternly and keeping her in seclusion for some time. Nothing has worked so far and she continues her destructive work. This is especially in the mornings and its so frustrating to see everything in bits and pieces as I wake up and enter the pantry. Any suggestions???

This can be very frustrating but because of the age of your dog chewing should not be an issue. Dobes are high energy dogs and she could need extra exercise and lots of it. If the chewing happens at night crating may be helpfull. While not solving the problem it will prevent night chewing. Getting the pup some bones or hard toys like the nylabones or the Kong, try redirecting the chewing. with the kongs you can put a treat inside and it keeps them busy for along time. I had a lab that liked to dig, I put cyane pepper in his favorite spots and he stopped digging very quickly a little goes a long way with their sensitive noses. By the way time outs don't work on dogs, don't treat her like a child or she wont mind you at all. have you seen the program the dog whisperer he has some insites into how to discipline problem pups.

I was in Delphi this year and bought my brother a pair of these fab slippers. I shan't get the chance to go back to Greece for a while and really need another pair for his birthday. What is better to wear with a wedding dress..flip flops or ballet slippers?
My fiance is almost exactly as tall as I am, so I don't want to wear heels. I've heard that flip flops are acceptable (not from my mom...she is appalled). I've also heard of brides wearing ballet slippers.

My husband is about the same height as I am and I wore heels-you'll have to get over the height thing at some point. A pair of kitten heels would even be lovely. I really think that a wedding dress deserves a formal shoe.

I found a nice pair of flat slingbacks, which were comfy and cheap too. They were nice and dressy.

Reply:I put on flip flops after the ceremony... I have to admit there is one picture of me dancing where you can see my feet and its not that great looking! But you couldn't see them other than that though and my feet were not hurting! I think that ballet slippers would look nicer.

Instead of ballet slippers or flipflops I actually just bought some white close toe flats. The ballet slippers were like $40 and I had already spent $60 on my wedding shoes so the flats were only $20 and I can still wear them everyday. But definitely ballet slippers instead of flip flops. Flip flops are kind of tacky but ballet slippers are growing more common everyday. Good luck!

Reply:honey, wear what you want to--it is your day to let your personality shine. i have been to weddings where everyone in the wedding party including the bride wore white converse high tops sneakers. they have adorable white flip flops (sort of platform, but not too high) for brides in case you didn't know. they say just married on the bottoms and have cute little wedding bells dangling from the toe part. is anyone really going to be looking at your shoes?! i only remember the dress.

First, the ballet slippers are a better choice however, there are shoes made special called, surprisingly, FLATS that are just for brides. They are low, comfy and can be dyed to match any color of dress for both the bride and the brides maids.
Second, the tuxedo shop can usually assist the groom with small lifts to assist him with this problem as they are used to handling these tiny issues (the shoes can be rented with the suit/tux). Have him tell them your height and if they are lacking in intelligence, go to Walmart and buy a couple of extra pair of heel cushions for his shoes for that day, get the shoes a half size larger.
For that matter, wear heels don't worry about it. Tom Cruise and Katie aren't worried about the foot between them.
