Old slippers in the wash machine left small pieces of sole all over the drum - could the machine be broke?

I spent an hour picking out the pieces from the drum, the rubber lining around the drum, behind the rubber lining... now I don't know if I should wash anything again!

Well i'm an ex washer man, give it an empty wash and anything left should wash through BUT if pieces keep appearing in your wash afterwards have a friend or neighbour check the washer filter for debris (some are are easy to get at from a small square door at the front bottom corner) apart from that there is nowhere where the sole can stay, it's drum, filter, and pump, then out through the waste tube. (check it's draining ok too, if not then the pump may be blocked or the pipe through the wall may be blocked, in that case call an engineer and if u r in the UK pay no more than £30 to get it checked and cleared.
Reply:Just check your filters before washing again and you will be fine...next time place them in a net bag available from Lakeland (online) and you will never have this problem again!
Reply:The washer is not broke, just clean it out. this happens alot when you wash things with rubber on them such as bath matts. They say to air dry. I have been usung my washer for over 10yrs doing this, I would say it doen not hurt the washer, or mine would have been broke long ago.
Reply:any little pieces should just come out the out hose in the next load. Make sure you are home when you do the next load and are at the machine when it drains just to be sure. It should be fine
