What are the pros n cons of wearing shoes, as compared to slippers and sandals ?
I work at a foot doctor's office. Shoes give your foot support. It supports the arch and heel and surrounds the whole foot. It is also protecting your foot. Sandals and slippers are like going barefoot. There is no advantage to these items other than if it's hot out or you are doing it for fashion. Nothing beats a good pair of correct fitting stabilizing shoes. Tie shoes are better than velcro.
Reply:well if your talking about sneakers, they're better because they hug your feet giving your spine that support it needs to be straight, and your back will hurt less (just make sure you get the good kind), but then also the cons are that they if you wear them too much all the time the foot wont have a chance to grow and breath so your feet will hurt. As for sandals (which i love) their ok for the summer but if ur wearing them all the time ull see you will have a little more back pain b/c your feet are not being cushioned enough and they have to strain a little more to walk easier cause without you knowing it ur doing effort to keep the sandal on your feet. I guess sandals are great in moderation like for the summer, but all the time, well you wont notice the pain but later in your life u'll feel it (sooner or later). So both with moderation are great.
