Which is right? where are my slippers or where is my slippers?

"Is" denotes a singular item, "are" denotes multipul items. Since slippers are by definition more than a single item, the correct statement is, "Where are my slippers?" If you were only missing one, you would ask something like, "Where is my other slipper?"

Which is right? where are my slippers or where is my slippers?
a friend of mine asked something like this and the yahoo editor freaks deleted it... God knows the anti-slipper support groups are probably ready to march as I type this
Reply:Where are my slippers is correct. You use the word are for a noun that's plural. If it wasn't wasn't plural you would use is.
Reply:where are my slippers?
Reply:Where are my slippers would be correct.

If you had ' Where is my pair of slippers' that would also be correct.

When you say slippers only, you can be asking for all the slippers you own.
Reply:of course where are my slippers, it's plural girl!
Reply:Where are, because slippers is plural. If you were looking for one slipper, it would be where IS my slipper.
Reply:whatever does sound right is pretty much the english rule:where are my slippers?
Reply:Where ARE my slippers. When speaking of more than one you use "are".
