What kind of footwear do kiwis wear in their homes, sandals, slippers or shoes?

I will be living in a family in new zealand and i always wear slippers inside my house.Would that be acceptable in Kiwi households too?Help!

What kind of footwear do kiwis wear in their homes, sandals, slippers or shoes?
There's no general rule for this, it depends on the people you're living with. Some people want you to take off your shoes when you go inside, some don't mind.

When you arrive, just do what the host does. If they take off their shoes, so do you. Most households don't provide guest slippers even if they do want your shoes off (unless they're asian) so you can just walk around in socks or bare feet.

When you're at home you might like to have a pair of slippers so your feet stay warm %26amp; you don't wear out your socks.
Reply:we wear slippers because we got a new light coloured carpet, its not the end of the world if a guest wears shoes. before the carpet we just wore shoes.
Reply:It depends on the family, just like in every "normal" country.
Reply:Barefeet
