How do I sew the elastic on my ballet slippers?

I%26#039;ve been wearing dance paws to jazz and ballet but I just bought my first pair of ballet slippers, but I%26#039;m not sure how to sew on the 2 elastic straps. I know I%26#039;m suppose to criss-cross them but I don%26#039;t know how to sew them to fit my legs. If you can give me some %26quot;How-tos%26quot; then it would be great. They%26#039;re male ballet slippers by the way.

I find this website: http://www.wikihow.com/Sew-an-Elastic-St...

But what I really suggest is safety pinning the elastics before you sew them. Have a dance around, have a look how they feel and make any adjustments if necessary. Once you take the pin out make a mark with a texta so you know where you have to sew.

That%26#039;s pretty much the only advice I can offer-I am a shocking sewer and my mum usually does it lol :)

Hope this helps!
Reply:i usually never sew my ballet slippers. haha. if i%26#039;m only using them for class i just cross them and tie them underneath my arch. but if you need to sew them at your studio just put them on and cross the straps then stretch them to where they seem comfortable, where they wont fall off but wont cut off circulation to your foot.
Reply:Most slippers come with one end attached, but I%26#039;m going to describe this like they aren%26#039;t just in case! Take the shoe and fold down the back of it, like you would fold the end of a box you were wrapping. See those two little darts that stick up? That%26#039;s where you want to attach one end each peice of elastic. After you do that, pull the elastic across your foot to see how tight you need it, and attach the other end near the seem at the middle of the shoe. Just make sure to sew it below the draw string, otherwise it gets stuck and pulls out!
Reply:i don%26#039;t know how to put my web show on here
Reply:Your best bet is to go back to the store you bought them in and have them teach you the proper way to sew them on. If they don%26#039;t know how to sew on elastics there, ask a teacher or clasmate. Online guides don%26#039;t compare to hands-on teaching.
Reply:sew the elastic near the back of the shoe

then put the shoe on

stretch it around ur foot, wereever its comfortable
