Does anyone know how to make children's slippers or booties?

I recently just left our local hospital with my 7 month old who was in PICU for 4 weeks and my heart went out to the other children I saw there. I would like to get some little socks, booties or slippers together for the children. Most don%26#039;t have visitors all the time and there poor little feet get cold. They range from ages zero to 18 but I don%26#039;t have any experience with sewing or anything. If anyone would like to help me please let me know. I would really like to bless as many children as possible. Thank you so much for your consideration and I look forward to seeing what God is going to do through all this.

Does anyone know how to make children%26#039;s slippers or booties?
Hi,

I hope your baby is doing Ok. Maybe you could contact the local sewing guild and see if they have any info. Lots of times sewing guilds and women%26#039;s service groups will %26quot;adopt%26quot; a charity or situation such as that and either make or supply the needed items. I know in our town the Association of Petroleum wives, and even some of the quilt shops make quilts and other items to donate to hospitals and group homes for children. Check with your womans group at church also. Try contacting a 4-H group or girl scouts maybe they could take it on as a project. Good luck and I hope you are able to find some. Maybe if it is allowed post the town and someone might know more specifics.
Reply:I think it%26#039;s just awesome that u want to do that for the children...try going on google. Type in %26quot;Sewing for Dummies%26quot; (That one should be a book) or %26quot;Sewing patterns for booties%26quot;. See if that comes up with anything. Good luck!
Reply:Sorry I can%26#039;t really help you, but I wish you the best of luck... I think it is fantastic what you are doing...

Reply:Crocheted booties or slippers would do great.... If you don%26#039;t know anything about crochet or knitting the crocheting or knitting for dummies are great books to teach you. Google is good , just type how to crochet . Go to www.marymaxim.com there are some great cd%26#039;s to learn from. I have been crocheting and sewing for over 25 years and crocheted booties and slippers are very easy for a beginner. I really think what you want to do is great Good luck!!
