hi ,

my cat is aobut 5 years old .. and before she got pregnent she sometimes took my slippers while I%26#039;m sleeping and miawwing !

now she just got birth two months ago and she went back to that behaviour !

What does she mean by that ?

What is she trying to tell me ?

and thanks alot

My cat keeps stealing my slippers !?
Sound like she%26#039;s very maternal. Are your slippers fuzzy? It could be that she%26#039;s %26quot;mothering%26quot; your slippers like she would her kittens. Are the kittens weened? If so, get her fixed. This should stop her behavior. The vocalizations probably mean that she%26#039;s going back into her estrous cycle (heat)
Reply:she means you have not taken care of her. when she%26#039;s pregnant, give her 100% attention!

and u r welcome!
Reply:I think she is selling them on ebay. Check it out
Reply:She%26#039;s telling you to buy a new pair of slippers cuz that pair is hers
Reply:I know dogs will do that sort of thing when they have a false pregnancy. They collect things and treat them as if they are their babies. Maybe she thinks they are her babies.
Reply:she has taken possesion of them. thats just a game with you. dont%26#039; worry about it. if it bothers you get a new pair, but she might just start with those cause she%26#039;s probably going by scent. kind of like a cat mouse thing. she cought it and now has to play with it a bit first.
Reply:It%26#039;s just a game. She likes your scent (animals often like feet things...just because they smell SO much like us!) and wants to play. If you add in more playtimes with her, she might stop stealing your slippers. :-)
Reply:Whatever you do, don%26#039;t take her shopping!

She likes them. Cats are very territorial so expect her to keep doing it. Let her have them.

Initially she probably saw them as toys. Now with no kittens to deal with she might be bored or lonely.

We used to have a cat that would steal earplugs and play fetch. A friend of mine used to walk his cat on a leash outside with no problems. Your cat has her own unique personality. Celebrate her quirky traits. :)
Reply:I have a dog that does that too, we have lost alot of cloths lately and I thought someone in our building was taking them from laundry room, come to find out the dog was taking them out of the basket and hiding them under the furniture. I really don%26#039;t know why they do this she has a whole toybox full of toys.
Reply:I think it%26#039;s kinda funny and cute. Is it okay if she keeps them?

Here%26#039;s a link about a cat named Willy who repeatedly stole his neighbors%26#039; gloves - http://www.usatoday.com/news/offbeat/200...

It%26#039;s just what they sometimes do...
Reply:she is trying to tell you that she doesnt think you look good in those ones and you need a new pair.
