OK I was at pay less yesterday looking for a cheap pare of shoes to wear around the house and i saw what seemed to be ballet slippers! REAL ONES! It said they were made by %26quot;The American Ballet%26quot;! Are you telling me you can get real ballet slippers at a place like pay less???

the ballet slippers sold at payless are really bad quality, a lot of people are suprised that ABT (American Ballet Theatre) allowed their name to go on them. They%26#039;re horribly stiff so they don%26#039;t look good at all and aren%26#039;t comfortable either. You would do much better to go to a real dance store where you can get decent leather slippers for under $20 and canvas ones for about $12. Thank goodness payless doesn%26#039;t sell pointe shoes!
Reply:I%26#039;ve seen them, too, they also have them at DSW. There%26#039;s not much to the construction of %26quot;real%26quot; ballet slippers, it%26#039;s toe shoes that are really the investment as far as dance shoes go. You wouldn%26#039;t find those at Payless! :)
Reply:they probably are, but ballet slippers arnt much of an investment, there is nothing much to them but a bit ov canvas, leather and suede. What you wont find there are pointe shoes, a hard shoe used for standing on your toes, usually handmade, they have carbon, fibreglass cardboard and sometimes wood in side the toe and are VERY hard when first brought, depending on the make. They are then covered with pretty pink satin and look gorgeous! These are alot more expensive to buy then ballet slippers, and are only sold where they can be properly fitted, at dance stores.
Reply:go to the place were there learn how to dance and there sell all dancing equipment
